Information Security Specialist

Job Location: Arlington, Virginia

Clearance Required: Active TS or Active Secret with ability to obtain TS clearance & investigation less than 5 yrs. old

Years of Experience: 5

Education: BS Information Technology

General:

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or comparable
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required
• Advanced Microsoft Professional Certification (MCSE )

Duties:

• Knowledge and experience with information network security equipment.
• Understanding of information network threats such as computer viruses.
• Tests and operates firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus systems and software deployment tools.
• Safeguards the network against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction or disclosure.
• May research, evaluate, test, recommends communicate and implement new security software or devices. Implements, enforces, communicates and develops security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, and telecommunications.
• Provides information to management regarding the negative impact caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information.
• Provides recommendations on information assurance engineering standards, implementation dependencies, and changing information assurance related technologies

Qualifications:

• Experience in C&A required, DHS C&A experience desired.
• Experience and demonstrated expertise in Trusted Agent Fisma tool.
• BS Information Technology or undergraduate degree in field, Masters plus Degree for experience substitution possible
• 5 to 9 Years Direct relevant experience in Information Security.
